A Brief Introduction to Hazard Mitigation Planning:

Mt. View-Edgewood Water Company recently completed the process of developing a Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan.  In simplest of terms, this Plan is a blueprint for reducing the Natural Hazard Vulnerability of the Water Company.  The Plan has identified the natural hazards that impact the Water Company and developed a list of priorities to reduce those impacts.

The Plan has several different sections including: a process section, a profile section, a capability section, a risk assessment section, a mitigation strategy section, an infrastructure section, and a maintenance section.

The Plan is part of the Region 5 (Pierce County-Wide) Hazard Mitigation Plan, which is available just below the Mt. View-Edgewood Water Company - Hazard Mitigation Plan.  The Plan is a living document and must be readopted every 5 years.  If you have specific questions and/or comments please contact us at (253) 863-7348 or mtviewmarc@comcast.net.
